Reigning Australian Superstock 1000 C and D Champion Cru Halliday will look to add his second title in two years when the 2011 Prostock series commences at Symmons Plains this weekend.

Halliday won the overall at last weekend’s non-championship Prostock round at Phillip Island amongst the Superbikes, but the race for points will officially kick off in Tasmania.

The Calypso Travel Systems/YRD Yamaha rider believes he has what it takes to be successful in the 2011 Prostock championship ahead of this weekend’s first standalone round.

“I am happy with the result this weekend at Phillip Island, it was good to get the first race out of the way and get the season underway,” Halliday commented.

“I am really looking forward to this weekend in Tasmania. I like the track and I went well there on the 600, I am keen to see what I can do there on the 1000cc R1.”

Halliday last competed at the Symmons Plains circuit in 2009, his selected Superstock 1000 C and D category not featured at last year’s two-plus-four event alongside the V8 Supercars.
