Kevin Williams takes over as general manager of Super X

Monster Energy Super X has a new general manager in Kevin Williams for the 2011 season.

Global Action Sports has confirmed that Kevin Williams from Williams Event Management will take over as general manager of its Super X division following the recent departure of Mal Peter.

Williams has managed the successful MX Nationals Championship for the past 14 years as well as held the race director role for Super X since its inception.

He also acted as CEO for two Australian Motocross Grand Prix events and is a very well known and respected member of the Australian motorcycle industry.

“I am excited to get the opportunity to extend my involvement with the series to general manager and I am looking forward to working with the industry and its partners to ensure the longevity and success of the Monster Energy Super X brand and series,” said Williams.

Managing director of Global Action Sports, Michael Porra, said he was delighted to have Williams on board as general manager for Super X.

“Kevin brings a huge amount of knowledge and experience to his new role, which is going to be invaluable to the series moving forward,” concluded Porra.

As general manager Williams will oversee all operations and sponsorship of the official Australasian Supercross Championship.

Super X has revolutionised the sport by introducing a range of exciting new race formats, ground breaking television coverage and the construction of innovative full sized U.S. designed supercross tracks for the first time in Australasia.

An announcement on the 2011 Monster Energy Super X series calendar is expected in the coming weeks.
