Yamaha Racing has announced its factory Australian Motocross teams for 2011, an all-star cast across the board that’s sure to contend for titles when the season commences at Broadford in Victoria on 13 March.

CDR Rockstar Energy Yamaha has confirmed defending triple MX Nationals Champion Jay Marmont will be joined by Kiwi contender Josh Coppins for the outdoors, before Jake Moss takes over alongside Marmont for Super X later in the season.

Team owner Craig Dack is thrilled about his rider line-up and expects nothing less than another championship from his team.

“In Jay and Josh we have two of the most experienced and fastest riders in the country,” Dack commented. “Both have won championships at the highest level and are prepared to do the work it takes to stay on top.

“The new Yamaha YZ450F has been an amazing motorcycle for CDR to develop over the past season and with the 12months of research and development under our belts, I am confident we can provide the riders with the best bike on the track.”

Serco Yamaha will again make up Yamaha’s Pro Lites team, with Kirk Gibbs and Ford Dale returning and being joined by Moss for the MX Nationals.

“We have three riders with real drive, dedication and the ability to win championships,”said Serco owner Gavin Eales.

“All three will be a major threat to win the championship and we are prepared to go to any lengths to ensure they get the job done on the track and the team gets it right off the track. We can’t wait for it to start.”

Moss is expected to return to the series mid-season as he recovers from a shoulder injury suffered in Germany in January.

GYTR Rockstar Yamaha has unveiled a focused team for this year, downsizing to two riders for the Under 19s category in Luke Arbon and returning rider Shawn Redhead.

“For 2011, we have trimmed the team down to two riders to ensure we give them the best bikes and knowledge to develop them as riders and champions,” head technician Darren Thompson said.

“Last year the team ran second and third in the championship and everyone feels we are better than that and are going after the championship in 2011.”
