The first of the three Flood Relief Moto Rodeo’s organised by Motorcycling Australia’s (MA) Riders’ Division kicked off over the weekend at the State Motorcycle Sports Complex with nearly $1000 raised for the Salvation Army.

Manager of the Riders’ Division Rob Smith said despite Victoria’s temperamental weather the day was a hit.

“Despite the weather, the day was hugely successful for those who came along,” Smith said.

“The grins on the faces of people – particularly a father and son team from the ‘Hare and Hound’ scramble track – demonstrated just how much fun people had while riding for a good cause.

“We managed to raise close to $1000 for the Salvation Army to assist those affected by the recent floods to recover and get their lives back on track – this is a fantastic step in the right direction and something we hope to build on in future events.”

With one of Australia’s premier stunt riders, Lukey Luke, on-hand, Smith went on to say fans weren’t disappointed with the talent on display.

“The effervescent Lukey Luke was in fine form as usual and we just couldn’t contain him!” Smith said. “Every time we turned around it’d be Luke going past – he was truly unstoppable and really embraced the spirit of the event.

“We can’t thank him enough for donating his time to be a part of the event.

“Our thanks must also go out to Motorcycling Victoria and the State Motorcycle Sports Complex, all the volunteers on the day including the medical team – Race Solutions, The Scouts, Marshalls, and everyone for coming along to this worthwhile event.”

Two more Flood Relief Moto Rodeo’s remain, so make sure you don’t miss out on the action.

Over in South Australia, Allan Morrison from Stuntz Inc will headline the Rodeo – laying down some hardcore rolling art, tearing up the tarmac with his trademark high revolution – high octane enthusiasm making this event a total ‘must see’ attraction at the Tailem Bend Motorsport Centre in South Australia on 5 March.

Not forgetting Dangerous Dave Skelton leading the action packed presentation of power and poise that is the Servin’ it up stunt spectacle at Eastern Creek in New South Wales on 27 March.

Remember, there’s the Minikhana for kids on Dirt Bikes, spectacular two-wheeled games for Road Riders and Off Roaders, and of course the Moto Gymkhana.

All proceeds go to the Salvation Army who will be helping real people in need around the Nation to rebuild their lives, including those hit by the most recent devastating cyclone in North Queensland.
