MV Agusta set for Australian return with new distributor

Iconic Italian brand MV Agusta has returned to Australia with new distributors this month.

Iconic Italian brand MV Agusta has returned to Australia with new distributors this month.

MV Agusta has a new distributor in Australia, with Melbourne-based MV Agusta Imports taking over national distribution of the iconic Italian brand.

The company is run by director James Deutsher, who comes from a contemporary art and design background, and manager Kevin Beale, a long-time senior industry player who has previously worked with other motorcycle manufacturers.

MV Agusta Australia’s distribution deal came into effect on 1 February.

“MV’s exceptional combination of trend-setting style with leading-edge technology is what holds much of the appeal for us,” commented Deutsher. “Australia has always been a keen consumer of exotica, and we’re determined to see this historic brand re-established here.”

Umberto Uccelli, commercial director at MV Agusta Motor S.p.A, is pleased to see the brand back in Australia after the Paul Feeney Group ceased its relationship with MV during the middle stages of 2010.

“We are very excited about this new agreement as we are aware that from now onwards MV Agusta will be represented by a solid company with passion, enthusiasm, professionalism and great experience in one of the world’s main countries for motorcycle enthusiasts,” Uccelli said.

“The appointment of MV Agusta Imports as exclusive Australian distributor is a further important step forward in the MV Agusta worldwide network development process.”

A national dealership network is being finalised and is expecting its first shipments from next month.
