Pirelli has confirmed it will return as naming rights sponsor of the Pirelli Under 19s Championship for the 2011 Rockstar Energy Drink MX Nationals series.

Riders who use Pirelli Scorpion MX tyres to race in the Under 19s class will be eligible for over $5000 worth of contingency prizes, while riders can also purchase their race tyres at a special subsidised price for the season through Pirelli stockists around Australia.

“We are again excited to be working with Pirelli as the title sponsor of the Under 19s championship,” WEM’s Kevin Williams commented. “Pirelli has produced 54 world champions and it’s great for the riders in the Pirelli Under 19’s Championship to have an opportunity to ride on a premier world class tyre the same as the world champions use.

“To get a race price for our Under 19s competitors and contingency from our partners Link International further shows their long term commitment to racing and development of champions here in Australia. Pirelli’s commitment to the sport of motorcycling is second to none”.

Pirelli product manager Don Nicholas is also pleased for the continuation of the partnership.

The Rockstar Energy Drink MX Nationals kicks off for 2011 at Broadford in Victoria on 13 March.
