Honda Australia has announced that the 2011 model CRF450R and CRF250R are now available nationally around Australia.

Both models were hugely successful in 2010 with the CRF250R taking out numerous awards and the CRF450R retaining its long standing premier status. Honda is confident the adjustments to the 2011 models will ensure they remain head of their class for another year.

Honda’s top motocross bikes share a number of similar upgrades including new suspension; improved steering damper (HPSD) and redesigned fuel pump and exhaust system.

The CRF450R’s rear suspension has been given a new linkage to help with handling and tracking, and a more balanced suspension performance, whilst the fully adjustable Pro-Link rear suspension sports an exclusive KYB integrated reservoir, and a large rear shock damper for improved suspension action under the toughest riding conditions.

The Kayaba front suspension features a sophisticated inverted Air-Oil Separated (AOS) system with an exclusive Honda 48mm-diameter fork, adjustability for rebound and compression damping. The new settings are matched up to the new rear suspension.

The CRF250R features Showa front suspension also with the sophisticated AOS system, with both bikes featuring a new fork piston for stronger initial feel combined with new lighter cartridges to further balance out the overall weight distribution.

Honda has also taken the revolutionary HPSD and made it even better on both motorcycles by giving it a bigger 24mm piston for less distortion over braking bumps. Ultimately, the rider gets more damping when needed, offering more confident high speed stability, secure cornering and less rider fatigue.

The CRF450R was Honda’s first MX bike fitted with fuel injection, and it’s always been the standard in the class. For 2011 it has been given a new throttle body and new ECU programming for crisper throttle control and even easier starting. The result is fluid power and drivability while reducing noise output.

Of course, knowing that it’s a Honda, means each bike comes with the quality and reliability for which the manufacturer is world renowned.

The CRF450R and CRF250R are currently available from dealers.

The 2011 model CRF250R is also slightly revised for the new year.
