JDR Motorsports KTM reveals Danny Ham as team manager

Super X television commentator and ex-racer Danny Ham will manage JDR Motorsports KTM this year.

Super X television commentator and ex-racer Danny Ham will manage JDR Motorsports KTM this year.

JDR Motorsports KTM has revealed that Danny Ham is the new team manager of its Australian Motocross and Supercross team.

The former factory racer will lead JDR Motorsports’ Australian effort for 2011, set to manage the all-star rider line-up of Dan Reardon, Ryan Marmont, Matt Moss, Josh Cachia and Brenden Harrison.

JDR Motorsports will continue to run its factory KTM operation in Australia, while also expanding with the launch of its JDR/J-Star/KTM factory-support team in the United States for the AMA Supercross and Motocross Championships.

“We are really excited to bring Danny into the JDR family,” commented JDR Motorsports team owner Jay Rynenberg. “We have some really talented riders coming onboard for 2011 so it’s only logical to bring someone of Danny’s caliber into the management role.

“Danny obviously has a very strong background within the sport, so he brings a lot of credibility to the team. We have some major changes for 2011 but I am very confident in our riders and the companies that are supporting us”

Ham, who won multiple Australian Supercross rounds during a decorated career and has also recently featured as a live television commentator of the Super X, Australasian Supercross Championship, is equally as excited with his new role.

“I’m really excited about the opportunity that the JDR have given me,” Ham added. “After some talks with the team I think I can bring a little extra to the team’s momentum. I feel that JDR Motorsports KTM has a strong team and there is so much proven experience and massive amounts of potential in the riders.

“With the raw speed and talent these guys have shown, I think it should definitely make the other teams a little nervous heading into round one of the MX Nationals. I’m really looking forward to working with everyone towards some great success this year.”

JDR Motorsports KTM had originally planned to have the late Andrew McFarlane move into the team management role, the former international Motocross star in the entire team’s thoughts as it enters the new season.

The opening round of the 2011 MX Nationals, Australian Motocross Championship, will take place at Broadford in Victoria on 6 March.
