Leading American publication Racer X is reporting that Australia’s Jake Moss will replace Jake Weimer at Monster Energy Kawasaki during selected rounds of the 2011 Monster Energy AMA Supercross, an FIM World Championship.

Rookie wonder Weimer suffered a broken arm while preparing for this weekend’s season opener at Anaheim in California, triggering a massive guessing game as to who will replace him aboard the factory KX450F.

Racer X is now reporting that it’s in fact Moss who is slated to join the team, set to make his debut at Phoenix on 15 January as he’s committed to race in Germany for this weekend’s Dortmund event.

It was originally believed that the ride would go to Australasian Super X Champion Josh Hansen, but Hansen will be competing alongside Broc Tickle and Tyla Rattray in the West Coast Supercross Lites series for Monster Energy Pro Circuit Kawasaki.

If the deal for Moss does go ahead, it will be the second time he has ridden for the team after finishing off the 2009 AMA Pro Motocross Championship with the team in 2009.

Moss recently finished third in Super X for Suzuki, winning the Sydney round after steadily gaining momentum throughout the season.

It’s believed he will rejoin Serco Yamaha in Australia in 2011 for the MX Nationals in the Lites class following three years based in the U.S, then expected to switch to CDR Rockstar Yamaha for Supercross on the 450 to round out the season.

In other news for Aussies in the U.S, JDR/J-Star/KTM’s Dan Reardon has injured his knee in a practice crash and will sit out this weekend’s season opener at Anaheim.

Reardon was to contest the opening three to five rounds of the AMA series before turning his attention to a fulltime Aussie return, however he’ll now miss A1 at least.

The Queenslander is hoping to be back in action for the second round of the series at Phoenix.
