Young Victorian lands European Superstock 600 deal

Victorian rising star Adrian Nestorovic is European-bound for 2011.

Victorian rising star Adrian Nestorovic is European-bound for 2011.

Victorian Adrian Nestorovic has signed with MTM-RT Motorsports and will ride in the Superstock 600 FIM Cup category on a Yamaha R6 during the 2011 Superbike World Championship.

The 18-year-old will ride alongside his fellow Victorian rider Jed Metcher in this season for the MTM-RT Motorsports squad.

“I am very happy with the deal that another talented Australian will be in our team next year alongside his countryman Jed Metcher,” MTM Racing’s Ludo van der Veeken said.

“Adrian’s results are impressive and we are sure that good results will come up next year.”

RT Motorsports’ team manager Rob Vennegoor is also excited with the signing.

“As team you always have to search for the good talent and after good talks with Victor and Adrian Nestorovic and with the information from a few Australian contacts we be sure that we signed a contract with another talent from Australia,” he said.

“Adrian will be based during the season with teammate Jed Metcher in Tubbergen, Holland, and will use all the facilities over there to be fit and motivated for all the rounds.”

Nestorovic had a successful year last year taking out the 2010 Victorian Supersport title and the Rookie of the Year title in the Formula Extreme FX600 Championship.

“I am very excited to be given the opportunity to ride alongside fellow Aussie rider Jed Metcher for MTM-RT Motorsports’ WSBK SSTK 600 team for the 2011 season,” he commented.

“It will be a huge experience for me, as I will be introduced to new world class tracks that I am looking forward to learning as quickly as possible.

“My goal for 2011 is to achieve a podium finish at every round and to win the championship. I am confident of achieving this with the support of the team at MTM and RT Motorsports.”
