GMR Motorex KTM’s Dylan Long may have missed out on the perfect season, but he was relieved to wrap up the Michelin Development Series at Brisbane’s Super X finale last weekend.

Long finished second overall on the night in treacherous conditions to clinch the crown, winning the title ahead of Jacob Wright and Jake Emmanuelli after winning four of the five rounds.

“I really wanted to win tonight at the final round to make it a clean sweep for the series, but when a lapper moved into the race line I had to jump on the brakes to avoid crashing into them,” Long commented.

“Jacob Wright took the opportunity and made the pass on me because I had lost momentum, but the series win is what I wanted most. I am so pumped to have won the Michelin Development Series, it really is a good feeling and a relief to bring it home.

“Thank you to everyone who has helped to make this happen, including all of the sponsors of GMR Motorex KTM, my family and my personal sponsors Choice Suspension and Backflips.”

Team manager Glenn Macdonald was proud of Long, wishing him the best of luck as he now leaves the team to step into the senior ranks.

“Second on the night was more than enough to seal the deal on the series win so we couldn’t be much happier,” Macdonald said. “This was Dylan’s final race with GMR Motorex KTM Racing Team as a junior as he now steps up into the senior ranks with a focus on the Under 19s National series.

“In the past two years with KTM we have seen Dylan really develop as a racer, collecting four state championships, third at the junior worlds and two Supercross titles. We are sure that there will be more success coming his way in the future and look forward to supporting him in his goals any way we can.”
