Cougar Bourbon Honda Thor Racing’s Kade Mosig finally reached his podium potential in the Super X season finale at Brisbane last weekend, finishing second in the Lites class at the rain soaked QSAC Stadium.

Mosig was drafted into the factory Honda operation for Super X after a solid year in the MX Nationals aboard a privateer Suzuki, however bad luck has hampered his opportunities at scoring podium finishes.

The talented young Victorian put it all behind him in the mud at Brisbane though, finally meeting expectations and repaying the team for their faith in him.

“It was great to finally put together a podium result,” Mosig said. “This has been a really tough season, and I am stoked to be able to repay the Cougar Bourbon Honda Thor Racing team with a podium.

“The conditions were absolutely crazy and just to stay upright was an achievement in itself.”

While many struggled on the extremely boggy track, Mosig revelled in the mud, winning his heat race to take number one gate pick for the trio five-lap races that made up the Triple Challenge final.

Mosig, who finished the first race seventh, holeshot the second race to lead from start to finish. Third place in the final race secured the Victorian second step on the dais.

It’s uncertain what Mosig will do for the 2011 season, with speculation mounting that Honda won’t be fielding a Lites bike in next year’s Nationals.
