Oz SX: Moss clinches Lites title in thrilling Brisbane finale

Team Rockstar Motul Suzuki's Matt Moss has clinched the Lites 2010 Monster Energy Super X, Australasian Supercross Championship, after a thrilling season finale at QSAC stadium in Brisbane tonight.

Team Rockstar Motul Suzuki’s Matt Moss has clinched the Lites 2010 Monster Energy Super X, Australasian Supercross Championship, after a thrilling season finale at QSAC stadium in Brisbane tonight.

The title went down to the final five-lap race of the series when the pair entered it tied on points, making for a winner takes all event to round out the season.

JDR Motorex KTM’s Larsen lead Moss out of the gates in second with Moss trailing, until a bobble by Larsen saw Moss make his way past.

From there, Moss stayed in control, racing to the championship despite the pressure of Larsen in treacherous conditions.

The end result of Moss finishing second and Larsen third saw Moss clinch his third straight title by a minute two points.

Earlier in the night, Larsen was ruled out of heat one after crashing off the start, however Moss was only able to score 17th when he was involved in the same incident and couldn’t start his bike.

The second moto saw Larsen finish second, while Moss again crashed and finished 10th.

Brisbane’s round win went to British import Steven Clarke for Raceline Pirelli Suzuki after he won finals one and three of the night.

Second was Cougar Bourbon Honda Racing’s final two winner Kade Mosig, while a consistent night from Moss’ teammate Lawson Bopping saw him round out the podium.

Larsen finished the night fifth overall behind fellow KTM rider Joel Roelants, while Moss wrapped up the title with eighth on the night.

Seventh overall on the night clinched third in the series for Larsen’s teammate Ryan Marmont.
