Australian Under 19s MX Nationals Champion Josh Cachia says it all just worked out for him on the night on his way to a career first Super X podium in Sydney last weekend.

Cachia enjoyed a consistent run throughout the night in the Survival format, eventually cruising to third in the final race of the four main events when PJ Larsen and Cody Mackie clashed.

“I felt good on the night and everything just seemed to be working,” MX Rad Coastal KTM’s Cachia said. “I put myself in the right position and kept out of trouble. Racing this format is just so hard because you really have to have four good races in a row and be super consistent.

“I don’t really think I did anything different than normal, I just focused on getting good starts every race and in the end it all worked out!”

Cachia came together with factory JDR Motorex KTM rider Ryan Marmont in the first of the finals after an ambitious maneuver on the final lap, Marmont going down and frustratingly forced out of the main event.

After six of seven rounds, Cachia sits in eighth place in the Australasian Supercross Championship heading into this weekend’s season finale at Brisbane.
