The JDR Motorex KTM team returns to New Zealand for the second weekend in succession on Saturday night for round five of the 2010 Super X, Australasian Supercross Championship, at Carisbrook Stadium in Dunedin.

Fresh off a 1-2 finish at last weekend’s Auckland round of the series, the JDR Motorex KTM team is in a confident mood for Dunedin – spearheaded by Lites championship leader PJ Larsen.

“It was good to reclaim the championship lead last weekend in Auckland, but now we have to keep working and getting good results so we can stay at the top,” the 20-year-old American commented.

“I’m feeling comfortable on the 250 SX-F and having a lot of fun at the races, so this weekend should be another solid night for the team and I.”

While Larsen leads the Lites title chase by nine points, teammate Ryan Marmont sits third after finishing second behind Larsen in Auckland. After spending the week in NZ, Wollongong local Marmont also enters round five ready to race.

The Open class will see Bourke teenager Tye Simmonds hoping to take his 2011 model 350 SX-F to his first podium position of the season. Simmonds scored a season-best fourth in Auckland and is determined to capitalise on that momentum in Dunedin.

Simmonds currently sits a solid fourth in the Open standings, the 18-year-old just three points out of third place overall against some of the world’s top riders.

Rounding out the all-star JDR Motorex KTM line-up is California Mike Alessi, the globally recognised 22-year-old looking to get his season on track after moving into 10th overall in the championship last weekend.

Alessi has been battling a string of bad luck and nagging injuries in recent rounds, however Dunedin could spark a late-season charge before he returns to the U.S.

Australian fans will be able to catch Dunedin’s action live on FOXTEL’s new SPEED channel at 7.30pm on Saturday, 20 November (check your local guide for details and confirmation on time).
