Oz SM: Internationals in for Australian Supermoto titles

International Supermoto stars Davide Gozzini and Christian Iddon are confirmed starters for the 2010 Australian Supermoto Championships to be held in Collie, Western Australia next month.

The 2008 Supermoto of Nations Champion has elected to return to Australian shores eager to defend his 2009 Australian crown, with the Italian superstar in career-best form.

In what has been a brilliant 2010 for the 29-year-old, Gozzini has performed strongly in competition across Europe, finishing second in the Supermoto World Championship, the Supermoto of Nations and Italian Supermoto Championship.

Although victory eluded the three-time Italian Champion he is expected him to figure prominently in Australia and New Zealand, where he will compete in the NZ Supermoto Championship.

2010 has been a year of change for multiple British Supermoto Champion Iddon, making the move to the circuit racing.

His perseverance paid off, earning a replacement rider entry for the final two rounds of the British Supersport Season.

Returning to the Supermoto discipline for December’s Championship, Iddon will be hoping to go one better than his second place finish in the S2 class in his last outing in Australia.

The 2010 Australian Supermoto Championship takes place at Collie, Western Australia from 3-5 December.
