Australia’s Chad Reed has spoken about his return to Yamaha in a private test at Yamaha’s Supercross test track in California this week.

Reed has been back in the States testing this week at Yamaha’s official Supercross test track, and our friends over at Racer X Online caught up with the 28-year-old Aussie to get his thoughts on Yamaha’s latest 450, along with how his plans are coming along for 2011.

“It sure has changed quite a lot since I last rode their bike,” Reed commented. “But I think it was good. It was different. A lot has changed on it, and it’s been two and a half years since I last rode one, so that amount of difference in and of itself is a big change.

“It was interesting to ride that bike and deal with the character that it has and all that – I was trying to learn that, and go through those motions a little bit.”

The test marked Reed’s first time aboard the latest version of the YZ450F, and hadn’t ridden a Yamaha since he left the manufacturer for Suzuki at the end of 2008.

Since splitting with Kawasaki earlier this year Reed came out and dominated Newcastle’s opening Super X round aboard a TeamVodafone Honda, doing so with just minimal time to prepare.
