Multiple X-Games medalist Blake ‘Bilko’ Williams became a local legend this week after he was inducted into Frankston City’s Hall of Fame at an illustrious ceremony at the Frankston Arts Centre.


Frankston City’s Hall of Fame recognises and pays tribute to individuals with a strong link to the Frankston area who have made a significant impact in their chosen field. 



Bilko, who was a student at Frankston High School, launched into a full-time Motocross and Freestyle (FMX) career before gaining his international break with world-renowned touring act, the Crusty Demons.

Bilko made history at the 2009 X Games in Los Angeles when he became the first international rider to win gold in Freestyle MX. Soon after his record-breaking feat, he was voted to be Transworld Magazine’s Worlds Best FMX Rider.

2009 was a pivotal year for Bilko, who was named the Lusk Foundation Rider of the Year before he joined legendary daredevil Travis Pastrana in 2010 for the Nitro Circus Tour. 



Bilko has emerged as one of Freestyle Motocross’ most personable, exciting and dynamic young riders, however his career in the extreme sport has come with its fair share of injuries including 22 broken bones, 14 surgeries and four knee reconstructions. 



The rider has become an idol for many young people aspiring for a career in FMX. His best advice is to believe in yourself and remember you can do anything you want if you just put your mind to it.

Also honoured in this years Frankston City Hall of Fame were Former Prime Minister Lord Stanley Melbourne Bruce, Paralympian Ellie Cole and Channel 7 Newsreader Peter Mitchell.

They join the ranks of past inductees including woman’s right activist Dame Beryl Beaurepaire, Managing Director of General Motors Holden Sir Laurence Hartnett and three-time Olympian Desmond Piper.
