AFXC: Formula Xtreme heads to Eastern Creek on 3-4 July

2010-fx-rd3-ec

Spectators can expect to see some excellent racing at New South Wales’ premier circuit as the Australian Formula Xtreme Championship (AFXC) rolls into Eastern Creek over the weekend of 3-4 July.

Kevin Curtain has shown a clean pair of heels to his opposition in the opening two rounds despite some determined opposition. Round two at Winton provided excellent racing and the chasing pack pushed the King of Xtreme to his limits.

Honda pilots Grant Hay and Glenn Cullen carved up Curtain all around the tight Winton layout and the elder statesman had to reach deep into this bag of tricks to stave off countless challenges from those eager to steal his crown.

Ducati-mounted Craig McMartin, the 2009 FX1000 Champion, returns to the AFXC for the first time this year and is keen to show his 2009 championship win was no fluke. The very fast 1198 Ducati rider and current number one plate holder McMartin, along with his team mate Beau Beaton, will certainly shake up the front of the FX1000 grid at Eastern Creek Raceway on the weekend of 3-4 July.

As seen at Wakefield and Winton, Saturday and Sunday are rounds of separate championships with racing happening from approximately 10:30am to 4:30pm each day.

The premier Australian Formula Xtreme Championship events run on Sunday, 4 July, while Saturday the 3rd plays host to the separate and just as fiercely fought for FX Nationals Championship.

Spectators can choose to go for one day of 15 races or double up the excitement with another 15 races on Sunday.

Each class, including the premier FX1000 class, is scheduled for three races per day and long-standing Formula Xtreme sponsor Motul Oils has taken up the third round naming rights sponsorship at Eastern Creek Raceway.
