As the business end of the 2010 Rockstar Energy Drink MX Nationals gets underway, local rider and former Australian Women’s Motocross Champion Kristy Gillespie will be looking to steal a few points from the guys when they line up on Sunday at Wodonga.

Gillespie has scored her second wild card entry to ride in the Pro Lites class this weekend and is looking forward to the challenge and hopes to make the most of her time out on the track.

“My training and preparation has been going pretty well so far,” Gillespie said. “I’m looking forward to the weekend – it’s my home track and the club always prepare it well for a National.

“Having the wild card ride last year was great, and I’ll probably go in with the same goals this time around – to get some good track time, race some longer motos and get used to a rough track. I didn’t do too badly last year, I didn’t come last! The KTM boys are out the front so hopefully we can get another one out there and get a few supporters out to the track as well.”

The round should prove valuable for the local star, who will ride the same circuit later in the year at the 2010 Australian Women’s Motocross Championship where she will try to win back her Aussie Title from NSW’s Tori Dare.

The sixth round of the 2010 Rockstar Energy Drink MX Nationals will be held on Sunday, 27 June at the Albury Wodonga Motorcycle Club at Wodonga in Victoria.
