Reigning British Motocross Champion Brad Anderson will head to Australia to contest this weekend’s Raymond Terrace round of the 2010 Rockstar Energy MX Nationals in New South Wales on Sunday.

Anderson will join fellow international and former British champion Billy Mackenzie (Kawasaki Racing Team) in the Pro Open line-up at the fifth round of this year’s title chase, further boosting what is already a talented field vying for the overall honours.

Currently sitting fourth in the 2010 ACU British Motocross Championship after three rounds following a third place podium result at the most recent round in Scotland, Anderson is the current MX1 champion after capturing the crown last season.

Another new name featured on the official entry list for this weekend’s Raymond Terrace round is Bryan Mackenzie, the younger cousin of Billy, who will contest the round on Kawasaki machinery in the Pro Lites category.

Bryan Mackenzie currently sits 11th in the British MX2 title, coming off a solid fifth place overall at the most recent round. Bryan rides for Husqvarna in the British championship.

Defending dual Pro Open MX Nationals Champion Jay Marmont (CDR Rockstar Yamaha) will lead the Australian charge this weekend against the internationals, with young guns Tye Simmonds (JDR Motorex KTM) and Todd Waters (Cougar Bourbon Honda Racing) both entering the round in a bid to salvage points as they recover from recent injuries.

American rookie PJ Larsen is the current red plate holder in the Pro Lites field heading into Raymond Terrace for JDR Motorex KTM.

The British contenders are in Australia in preparation for Western Australia’s Manjimup 15,000, the prestigious event set to be held on 6 June.
