Craig Anderson will be a home crowd favourite at Raymond Terrace nex weekend.

As the 2010 Rockstar Energy Drink MX Nationals series passes the halfway mark, local riders Craig Anderson (Husqvarna) and Luke George (Kawasaki) are looking forward to the fifth round at their home track next weekend.

With only a week remaining until gates drop at the Raymond Terrace track, George, who is steadily returning to form following a life-threatening crash at the final round last year, is keen to post some good results in front of a home crowd.

“Slowly but surely I’m getting my race fitness back up there,” George said. “My fitness and speed have both been there – I’ve qualified strongly each weekend, but it’s just the actual racing side of things, I struggled at the first two rounds but I’ve just kept getting better and better.

“I can’t wait for the next round, it’s my home round for the series, all my friends and family will be coming along, and if I can get some good starts I should be in with a good chance!”

Anderson, who is playing the roles of both rider and team manager, is eagerly anticipating his home round and is hoping for some better results on a familiar track.

“We’re just trying to make everything work and try to get better results,” Anderson said. “It’s actually pretty good being both a rider and the Team Manager – we run a pretty casual ship, we go on our way, have some fun and go racing so it’s not much different to what I do normally anyway.

“I’m definitely looking forward to having a home round and it’s good to not have to travel too far.”

The fifth round of the 2010 Rockstar Energy Drink MX Nationals will be held on 30 May at MX Central at Barleigh Ranch Raceway in New South Wales.
