Oz MX: Pirelli announced as MX Nationals tyre partner

In a massive coup for the 2010 Rockstar Energy Drink MX Nationals, Pirelli Tyres, through distributors Link International, has been announced as the naming rights sponsor of the Under 19’s class and official tyre supplier of the championship.

In addition to presenting the class and supplying the championship, Link International has announced the introduction of two special offers for Under 19’s riders using Pirelli tyres.

Firstly, all riders using Pirelli Tyres in the Under 19’s class at the 2010 Rockstar Energy Drink MX Nationals are entitled to a $50 rebate per round on their entry fee, regardless of their position in the championship.

This offer will come into place at round three of the Series and eligible riders will need to fill in the Pirelli MX Contingency Form located in the Competitor Information section on www.mxnationals.com.au.

The rebate form will need to be verified by a member of Williams Event Management (WEM) staff at the event, and submitted to Pirelli at their trade stall that weekend in order to receive the rebate.

The second offer from Link International are contingencies for the first, second and third placed Under 19’s riders using Pirelli tyres at each round.

The highest placed Under 19’s rider using Pirelli tyres at each round will receive two free Pirelli Scorpion MX Tyres while the second and third highest placed riders at the round will receive one free Pirelli Scorpion MX Tyre.

Full terms and conditions are available on the 2010 Rockstar Energy Drink MX Nationals website at: www.mxnationals.com.au.

Pirelli product manager Don Nicholas said that Link International’s involvement in the championship was a big commitment but one well worth the effort for the company.

“Link International is very happy to be involved with the 2010 Rockstar Energy Drink MX Nationals,” Nicholas said. “We see this partnership as an opportunity for younger riders to experience World Championship winning Pirelli tyres on their racing machines enabling them to develop their race craft and to continue to build their careers.

“It presents a great opportunity for us to get the brand out there and get people to try it – experiencing the difference for themselves – we know the product is good, and the race results in the World Motocross Championship and the 2010 Rockstar Energy Drink MX Nationals pretty much speak for themselves.

“It’s also a great way for us to invest back into the sport to try and make it a little bit more affordable for competitors – hopefully encouraging more riders to have a go at the Under 19’s category at a national level.

“Link International is involved in a variety of motorcycling disciplines because we like going racing too – we’re all passionate bike riders here so when we saw an opportunity with the series to give back to the sport, and making it a little bit easier for people to continue racing at this level, we’re happy to contribute.”

The third round of the 2010 Rockstar Energy Drink MX Nationals will be held on Sunday 2 May at the State Motorcycle Sports Complex at Broadford in Victoria.
