Victorian Matt Ryan scored Husqvarna Racing’s first race podium result in the 2010 Rockstar Energy MX Nationals at Canberra last weekend, taking the all-new TC 250 X-Light to seventh overall for the round in a surprise performance.

Ryan scored 7-DNF-9-3 results in the spectacular back-to-back four moto Sprint format at the Fairbairn Park facility, his podium placing in the final race of the weekend boosting his confidence on the Italian-built Husqvarna.

“I knew that the Husqvarna had what it takes to be competitive in the Lites class and I am really stoked to have had such a great result,” Ryan said. “This was my first top three finish at the national level and it was a great result for me and Husqvarna.

“I want to say thanks to everyone that made it possible, Paul Feeney Group and all my sponsors – Motul, Pirelli, RK Chains, Ferodo brake pads, JT Sprockets, Polisport and Progrip. The support from these guys has been fantastic.”

Husqvarna Australia’s Paul Feeney was excited with the result, pleased with the performance of Ryan in the early part of the series.

“Considering that we are only at round two for the championship and that this is the first year in some time that we have had the Husqvarna brand represented at a national MX competition level, Matt has done a great job for us this weekend and I am confident we can continue to improve and achieve some consistent results in this year’s title chase,” Feeney said.
