Motorcycling Victoria (MV) has announced that Peter Stevens Motorcycles has signed on as naming rights sponsor for both the 2010 Victorian Motocross Championships and 2010 Victorian Junior Motocross Championships.

Peter Stevens this year celebrate 40 Years of Business within in the motorcycle industry and have been involved in racing and supporting events for most of this time.

This new sponsorship agreement further demonstrates Peter Stevens’ commitment to supporting local motorcycle racing.

Peter Stevens’ group manager new motorcycles Stephen Weatherstone is happy to be on board for the 2010 championships.

“Peter Stevens Motorcycles are pleased to be associated with Motorcycling Victoria as the naming rights sponsor for the 2010 Victorian Senior and Junior Motocross Championships,” he explained. “We have assisted a great deal of riders in their careers, especially in Motocross, with some of these riders moving into the top end of the Pro ranks and factory rides, so we see this as a great opportunity to bring our best riders in the state to these Championships.”

The new sponsorship will see the two championships referred to as the Peter Stevens Motorcycles Victorian Motocross Championships and Peter Stevens Motorcycles Victorian Junior Motocross Championships.

The 2010 championships are set to be the best yet, with a lot of effort being put into improving the overall experience for both riders and spectators, including TV coverage.

For the first time, both the junior and senior championships will be conducted over four rounds, giving riders a greater opportunity to battle for top spot.

To highlight their commitment to the sport, Peter Stevens will give each rider that enters the first round of both Championships a 15 percent off voucher to be redeemed at any Peter Stevens dealer.

As part of the sponsorship agreement, Peter Stevens will also be involved in the MV Awards Dinner in November, sponsoring the major award on the night, the Male Rider of the Year award.
