ASBK: Allerton confirmed to be returning on Honda in 2010

Evolution Sports Group has announce that 2008 Australian Superbike Champion and current national number two Glenn Allerton will race Honda machinery in the 2010 Viking ASBK Championship.

Allerton will continue with Honda on the award-winning CBR1000RR Fireblade, excited to kick off the season next weekend at Phillip Island in Victoria.

“While there were choices, I am pleased to continue to work with the Honda CBR1000RR in 2010,” Allerton said. “It is a superb sports motorcycle to ride and the perfect platform for an ultra competitive Superbike race machine. I won the title in 2008, came close last year, and in 2010 I want the championship back – I’m fitter and more focused than ever and now I have the Honda machinery that I want. I am looking forward to the racing against the best competitors at the highest level of competition in Australia.”

Honda Australia general manager of motorcycles Tony Hinton also welcomes Allerton back in the Honda fold for the new season.

“We are really pleased to see that Glenn has chosen to compete again this year on a Honda,” Hinton said. “He has had a great deal of success on the CBR1000RR and I’m sure he will do so again in this year’s championship.”

Round one of the ASBK title fight at Phillip Island will be contested on 26-28 February, held in conjunction with the opening round of the Superbike World Championship.
