Ducati Marlboro Team rider Nicky Hayden underwent surgery on his right arm directly following the Malaysian MotoGP test last month, the former world champion still expected to test at the upcoming second Sepang test this month.

Immediately after the most recent MotoGP tests at Sepang, Hayden travelled to Doctor Angel Vilamor’s clinic in Madrid, Spain, for surgery on his right arm.

The American rider was operated on by the Spanish surgeon in the past, to treat ongoing arm-pump (compartmental syndrome) problems, which is frequent in riders, and after a recent check-up just after the latest tests in Sepang, Hayden went back into surgery for a “clean-up” operation, to remove scar tissue resulting from the first operation.

Hayden, who has already returned to America, will participate in the next tests, again in Sepang, on 25-26 February alongside Australian teammate Casey Stoner.
