ASBK: McMartin and Beaton to head North Coast V-Twins

North Coast V-Twins has announced that it will field three riders in Australian road racing during the 2010 season, with eight-time Australian Pro Twins Champion Craig McMartin, rising talent Beau Beaton and newcomer Ryan McLachlan set to spearhead the team’s challenge for this year.

McMartin will be contest the Superbike category in the Australian Superbike Championship on a Troy Bayliss Replica 1098R, joined in the ASBK series by last year’s Superstock 1000 revelation Beau Beaton, who will campaign an 1198S in the new-look Superstock 1000 A and B category. in the ASBK Series on a new Ducati 1098R Bayliss

Beaton made a huge impact on the circuit on debut in 2009 with victory in the C- and D-grade class overall. Beau is the son of team and dealer prinicple Ashley Beaton.

Meanwhile, McLauchlan will take his 2010 Ducati 1198S to compete in the Australian Formula Xtreme Championship series this season. McLauchlan raced part-time last year in the F1 BEARS and Pro Twins categories.

“I am looking forward to this year’s championships with much anticipation and excitement,” explained Ashley Beaton. “We have never before had such a talented and competitive line up of riders as the three we have for the 2010 season.”

North Coast V-Twins Racing will also feature Mark “Doc” Downie as the team’s head technician after a three-year break to pursue other career avenues.
