Former 2008 West Coast Lites AMA Supercross Champion Jason Lawrence was released from jail on 24 December after spending four months behind bars in 2009.

The 22-year-old was sentenced to 365 days in jail after reportedly biting off a friend’s ear, charged with assault with a deadly weapon, but good behaviour while carrying out his sentence lead to an early release.

Lawrence, who runs his own Boost Mobile/ampm/Monster Energy sponsored team utilizing Yamaha equipment, will now return to training, although it’s unlikely that he’ll front for the start line come Anaheim’s 2010 season opener on 9 January.
