MotoGP: Pedrosa undergoes hand surgery in Barcelona

Repsol Honda’s Dani Pedrosa has underwent an operation to have a screw removed from his left hand this week, the procedure completed at the USP Institut Universitari Dexeus of Barcelona in Spain, which will allow the MotoGP star to improve the mobility of his left wrist.

Pedrosa was operated on by Doctor Xavier Mir, head of the hand surgery unit of the Orthopaedics Department of the USP Institut Universitari Dexeus, carrying out the surgery to repair an old fracture in the former double 250cc Grand Prix World Champion’s hand.

The Spaniard was discharged from hospital late this week and, according to Dr Mir, will be able to start his functional recovery in two weeks, enabling him to return in time for the February test at Sepang in Malaysia.
