ASBK: IEG finalises calendar for 2010 ASBK championship

International Entertainment Group has announced the final calendar for the 2010 Australian Superbike Championship, revising several series dates for the new year compared with the provisional calendar released last month.

International Entertainment Group has announced the final calendar for the 2010 Australian Superbike Championship, revising several series dates for the new year compared with the provisional calendar released last month.

In a release issued by IEG on Christmas Eve, a statement read: “The 2010 calendar has been finalised, offering riders, sponsors and spectators an opportunity to witness the nation’s premier Australian Superbike championship further and wider than ever before”.

It’s anticipated that the supplementary regulations will be available at ASBK.com.au in “the early weeks of January”, along with the tyre program and contingencies.

Travel subsidies will also be released at that time, according to IEG.

2010 Australian Superbike Championship Calendar and Classes:

Round 1: 26-28 February – Phillip Island, Victoria (World Superbikes)
Classes: Superbike/Superstock 1000 A and B; Supersport; Superstock 600.

Round 2: 8-11 April – Hidden Valley, Northern Territory (TBC)
Classes: Superbike/Superstock A; Supersport; Superstock 1000 B, C and D; Superstock 600; 125/250GP Mono; Sidecars.

Round 3: 3-6 June – Queensland Raceway, Queensland
Classes: Superbike/Superstock A; Supersport; Superstock 1000 B, C and D; Superstock 600; 125/250GP Mono; Juniors.

Round 4: 1-4 July – Broadford, Victoria (double-header)
Classes: Superstock 1000 C and D (edited); Superstock 600; 125/250GP Mono; Juniors; Sidecars.

Round 5: 19-22 August – Queensland Raceway, Queensland
Classes: Superbike/Superstock A; Supersport; Superstock 1000 B, C and D; Superstock 600; 125/250GP Mono; Juniors.

Round 6: 10-12 September – Phillip Island, Victoria (V8 Supercars)
Classes: Superbikes/Superstock A and B; Supersport.

Round 7: 5-7 November, Symmons Plains, Tasmania (V8 Supercars)
Classes: Superbike/Superstock A; Supersport.
