Trinder Brothers Racing and Aprilia Australia have confirmed that they’ll be entering a factory-supported team in the 2010 Australian Superbike Championship, competing with one RSV4 Factory in the Superbike category and another two in the Superstock 1000 A category.

The news was confirmed to MotoOnline.com.au on Friday afternoon by Aprilia Australia, with team manager Steve Trinder confirming the rider line-up and team structure this morning.

“We’ll be competing in the Superbike class with Dan Stauffer, while we’ll also have both Cole Odendaal and Jackson Leigh-Smith in the new Superstock 1000 A class,” confirmed the Queenslander.

“We’re very happy with the calendar and are also looking forward to the new structure of the series. We should have the RSV4s before Christmas and will be looking to start testing early in the new year.”

Trinder Brothers Racing will be developing the RSV4 Factory in-house, although it’s expected that there will be technical assistance from Aprilia in Italy as the team and Stauffer progress through the season.

For Stauffer, it’ll be a reunion with the Trinders after previously riding for the team in Nikon colours on a Yamaha in 2004, while Odendaal and Leigh-Smith contested this year’s ASBK series with support from TBR.

“I’m really looking forward to the challenge,” said Stauffer, before boarding a plane to Switzerland on a holiday this morning. “I’ve worked with the Trinders before and they gave me my first opportunity to race a Superbike. They’re winners and hungry for success, and so am I. It should be a pretty good season from the start.”

The entry of TBR in the new-look Superstock 1000 A category marks the second factory-supported team to participate in the sub-class of the Superbike field, with Evolution Sports Group KTM also set to run Chris Trounson in the category while Shannon Johnson focuses on the lone RC8R Superbike.

TBR will also be officially launching a Junior Development Team in 2010, with young gun Brandon Demmery riding a Metrakit GP70 with support from TBR on a bike that’ll look similar to the team’s Superbike and Superstock machines.

“We believe it is a good opportunity to support junior racing with a development-style team, and Brandon is a good kid who has a lot of potential for a very young rider,” concluded Trinder.
