A4DE: 2010 Australian Four Day Enduro for Portland in April

MOTORCYCLING AUSTRALIA:

The Oyster Bay Motorcycle Club (OBMCC) is in the planning stages of organising the 2010 Australian Four Day Enduro (A4DE), the premier event for Enduro motorcycle racing in Australia.

The event will be run in the Portland/Sunny Corner area of NSW, approximately two hours west of Sydney near Lithgow, between April 8 – 11, 2010.

The event will start at Portland Showground each day for the four days of competition and ventures out on a new route every day, returning back to the showground in the afternoon.

The A4DE trail sections are planned to run in, and around, the Sunny Corner State Forest, and organisers have also secured many private properties for special tests and the final moto, so the course should be varied and technical.

The organising committee for the A4DE includes members from the Motorcycling Australia Enduro Commission, OBMCC, Central Western riders and various other personel who have many years experience at both the A4DE and ISDE, and their aim is to stage an event ‘for Enduro riders by Enduro riders’.

Organisers will be limiting the 2010 A4DE to 350 entries and have had interest from some international Enduro riders already.

Accommodation for the event will be available in the Lithgow and Bathurst Areas as Portland is approximately halfway between these two towns.

There is limited space at the Portland Showground, so there will be no camping available at the Parc Ferme. Please contact Kellie at Lithgow Tourism Centre (tourism.lithgow.com or 1300 76 02 76) for all accommodation bookings and information on where to camp etc.

To ride this event you must hold a valid MA National Licence, RTA Motorcycle Licence, have a registered bike and comply with the A4DE regulations as per the MA Manual of Motorcycle Sport (Chapter 25 – Enduro and Reliability).

The organisers will shortly be publishing the Supplementary Regulations and encouraging Early Bird Entries, and any additional information will be available on the A4DE website www.a4de2010.com.au which will be regularly updated with news and information.

The website is also planned to contain an ‘A4DE for beginners’ section with helpful tips and information for rookies and enthusiasts.

If you wish to volunteer at the A4DE – either by helping with the control points, tests or as a sweep rider – please contact the organisers asap to place yourself on the Volunteer roster.

All correspondence at this stage should be directed to Lyn Braico, A4DE Co-ordinator, by either email [email protected] . Fax 02 9487 8005 or via mobile 0422 580 922.
