FMX: Cam Sinclair wins FMX Rider of the Year at ADB Awards

CAMERON SINCLAIR:

Freestyle Motocross double back-flipper Cam Sinclair has been awarded the Australasian Dirt Bike Magazine ‘FMX Rider of the Year’ Award in a presentation held in Sydney over the weekend.

Arguably one of the most prestigious awards in Australian motorcycling, Sinclair was ecstatic accept the award in front of his high profile fellow nominees Blake Williams and Robbie Maddison.

“I’m so happy, I can’t believe it! To win this award in front of amazing riders like Bilko (Blake Williams) and Maddo (Robbie Maddison) is a huge compliment. I really owe this to all my fans and great supporters who voted for me,” Cam Sinclair said.

Sinclair launched his way into the action sports limelight, becoming the third person in the world ever to land a motorcycle double backflip last December, then continued to land 25 more this year; on route to winning a Bronze medal at the Red Bull X Fighters in Texas, where he became the first person in the world ever to land the stunt during a full 90 second competition run.

Whilst competing once again for the X Fighters crown, this time in Madrid, Spain, disaster struck Sinclair. Going for his 26th double flip attempt Sinclair under rotated the trick and suffered near fatal head and internal injuries.

“My recovery since crashing in Madrid is going really well. I’m starting to get close to full fitness and my head feels better every day. I’d like to thank everyone that has stuck by me the past four months.” Sinclair said.
