General: Nitro Circus Live tour in massive demand for next year

GLOBAL ACTION SPORTS:

The all new touring sensation Nitro Circus Live, which will make its worldwide debut in capital cities around Australia in May and June 2010, has already sold almost 30,000 tickets nine months from the tour, causing promoters to announce second shows only one week after going on sale – a record for action sports in Australia.

The unprecedented response from fans puts it well ahead of all other tours the promoters of the all new touring entity, Global Action Sports (GAS), have previously been involved in, including five previous Crusty Demons tours.

“We have been blown away by the reaction we have had to Nitro Circus Live and it proves how popular Travis and his crazy crew are,” said Michael Porra, Managing Director of GAS. “This will be the most popular live action sports show on the planet and it’s obvious that Australian fans are pumped to be the first to see it before the rest of the world.

“The show will be two and half hours of mind blowing entertainment and unlike any action sports show ever produced.”

Nitro Circus Live will be the live performance adaptation of the hit MTV series with the same name that has been a ratings hit worldwide, and will include some of the world’s greatest freestyle stars performing the biggest FMX tricks in the world as well as mind-blowing stunts on crazy contraptions and the entire Nitro Circus crew entertaining the crowd with their wild antics.

Like the TV series, the live show will be headed up by 14 times X Games medalist, Travis Pastrana, who is the face of action sports worldwide and famous for performing crazy stunts around the globe including jumping out of a plane with no parachute and jumping off his motorbike into the Grand Canyon as well as being the first person in the world to perform a double back flip on a motorbike.

Pastrana was in Australia promoting the tour last week and made headlines and news bulletins around the country after back flipping a dirt bike over a hovering helicopter in front of the iconic Sydney Harbour Bridge.

“I can’t wait to come back here in 2010 for the Nitro Circus Live tour and spend some time here entertaining our Australian fans. I can’t think of a better place for our first ever tour,” said Pastrana.

Nitro Circus Live will be performed on a never before seen, purpose built, multi-million dollar stage and set, which is currently under construction in a US compound where the Nitro stars are currently rehearsing the show. The set will include the first ever 50 foot high Nitro mega ramp, which will be built into the stands and in many venues reach almost to the roof!

Other members in the group include Jolene Van Vujt who is the only girl fearless enough to keep up with the crazy guys, Andy Bell who constantly competes with Pastrana and Pastrana’s long time friend, Jim De Champ.

Nitro Circus Live will hit Australian shores in May and June next year with the first ever show to be held in Brisbane at the Brisbane Entertainment Centre on May 7 & May 8 2010 followed by the Acer Arena in Sydney May 14 & 15, the Burswood Dome in Perth May 22, the Adelaide Entertainment Centre May 28 & 29 and the Rod Laver Arena in Melbourne June 5 & 6.

Second shows will go on sale Monday November 9. For more information please visit www.nitrocircuslive.com.
