MotoGP: Suzuki stars to be at Rizla Racing Day this weekend

RIZLA SUZUKI:

Rizla Suzuki MotoGP racers Chris Vermeulen and Loris Capirossi will be back on track this weekend as they head to the 10th Rizla Racing Day at Assen in The Netherlands.
Vermeulen and Capirossi will be at the 4,555m Dutch circuit on Sunday 9th August to entertain the tens-of-thousands of fans that will turn up to this now traditional and unique motorsport event.

The two Rizla Suzuki MotoGP racers will do some demonstration laps on their Suzuki GSV-Rs to wow the spectators with the awesome sight and sound of a prototype Grand Prix bike, with the possibility of a few wheelies by the pair thrown in.

The Rizla Racing Day is an annual event that will celebrate its 10th anniversary this August. The event is supported by Suzuki Netherlands and had become a regular feature in the Dutch petrolhead’s calendar. The Rizla Racing Day is unique due to the fact that it features many forms of motorsport during the same day, including karts, motorcycles, supercars and a round of the ATS Formel-3-cup.

The event gets underway at 10.00am local time on Sunday 9th August with Vermeulen and Capirossi taking to the track for their demo runs during the lunch-time activities. Admission to the Rizla Racing Day is free for all, with tickets and more information available online at www.rizla.nl

Chris Vermeulen:
“The Rizla Racing Day is a great event and with Rizla being the main sponsor of our team it is a great opportunity for a lot of the fans who wouldn’t normally get to a MotoGP to see, hear and appreciate our GP bike. For us it is only doing some demonstration laps, but it’s still a lot of fun – in fact I think this is probably the eighth time I’ve been to a Rizla Racing Day so I must like it! Loris and I will certainly put on a show and we’ll try and do a couple of demo starts, spin -up the tyres and pull some wheelies for the crowd.”

Loris Capirossi:
“I wasn’t able to ride at the Rizla Racing Day last year because of an injury, but I did attend and was amazed by how good it was. To see the mixture of cars, bikes and karts all at one event was really different and Rizla certainly puts on a good show. I am really looking forward to getting on track and riding the GSV-R for a bit of fun for all the guys who will be there and putting on a good demo of the Suzuki GSV-R for Rizla and all the fans.”
