General: KTM Ride 4 Kids open day on at Broadford next month

KTM AUSTRALIA:

Motocross and enduro riders have an opportunity to help raise much needed funds for “Challenge” a not for profit organisation providing daily support to kids with cancer and their families, by participating in the KTM Ride 4 Kids open day, at the Victorian State Motorcycling Complex Broadford on Sunday August 23.

Continuous riding sessions will take place throughout the day, starting from 50cc junior right through to novice all powers and the open class of thumping 525 big bores.  All sessions are an open format in a non competitive format.

An entry fee of $45 for pre registration or $55 on the day goes directly to Challenge and is fully tax deductible.

Riders can help Challenge further by participating in a sponsor program to raise additional funds for the charity.  The three riders who raise the most money for Challenge in each of the combined motorcycle classes will be rewarded with prizes from O’Neal, Fox and Scott.  The overall highest fundraise will win a 2009 model KTM 200 EXC donated by event sponsor KTM.  The motorcycle is valued at $9995 plus on road costs.

KTM Australia, General Manager, Jeff Leisk is right behind supporting Challenge and encourages the motorcycling community of Broadford to get behind the event.  “This is the fourth consecutive year KTM Australia has sponsored Ride for Kids.  The motorcycling industry is a very tight community and very giving community, we’re confident through this event much needed funds will be raised for Challenge and we’re proud to put the KTM name to the event,” said Leisk.

Motorcycle enthusiasts do not have to hold a competition licence to participate, as non competition licences can be purchased on the day for $20.  Whilst the motocross and enduro rides will be kept somewhat separate, it’s a chance for enduro riders to experience motocross and visa-versa. The event is not about racing or who is the fastest on the track, so anyone who owns a motorcycle can go along and have some fun, whilst supporting a great cause.

Entry forms for pre registration into the event can be secured on-line at www.challenge.org.au or www.mxtv.com.au or by calling Challenge on 03 9329 8474. Once registered, riders will receive a sponsorship kit to assist them with their fundraising.

This year as part of the Ride 4 Kids motocross event on Sunday 23rd August, all families, friends and supporters of Challenge can contribute to fundraising efforts by selling Ride 4 Kids raffle tickets to everyone they know, with the chance to win some awesome prizes including a trip for two to Las Vegas.

Tickets are only $5 so contact Challenge to find out more about how you can sell them and help further support children and families living with cancer.

KTM Ride for Kids starts at 9am running through to 5pm.  The Victorian State Motorcycle Sports Complex is located at 280 Strathcreek Rd, Broadford.  For further information on supporting Challenge through fund raising and events call 03 9329 8474.
