Family priorities and work commitments have seen Husaberg factory rider Adam Lees announce time off from racing on the national circuit.

Commenting on his decision Adam Lees said, “I have had a great ride with Husaberg Off Road Racing, enjoying many podiums results.    I have always had to juggle full time work commitments with my factory ride, which was achievable until the wonderful addition to my family came along, with my baby daughter.

“Increased work and family commitments, have taken away time I once could dedicate to the necessary training required to be on the podium.   I don’t feel it is fair to Husaberg Off Road Racing to continue riding on the national circuit, when a podium is not achievable for me right now.

“As Husaberg Australia General Manager, Jeff Leisk said to me you get what you put into racing, and right now I can’t put into racing.  I still intend to ride a Husaberg for recreational trail riding on weekends, but other than that I won’t be returning to racing in the near future.

“I’d like to thank everyone who has backed me with my Husaberg ride, and I’m confident both Blake Hore and Shannon Lewry who remain on the Husaberg Off Road Racing Team will continue to move forward in the E2 class of the National Championship.”

Jeff Leisk adds, “It’s noble of Adam to be honest with himself, and with Husaberg on his decision to take time out from racing.  At a factory level it takes a lot of commitment to maintain podium results.  A rider needs to be mentally and physically committed, and understandably Adam’s personal circumstances have changed, therefore supporting his family must take priority, something we fully support him on.”

Husaberg riders Shannon Lewry and Blake Hore will continue riding with Husaberg Off-Road Racing this weekend at rounds five and six of the Australian Off-Road Championship in South Australia’s Murraylands region.
