ASBK: Burgess podiums in Queensland Superstock 1000 rounds

Teterin Motosport PR:

Teterin Motosport team rider Jordan Burgess has had another consistent weekend in the double-header rounds 3a and 3b of the Suzuki Australian Superstock 1000 Championship at the Woodstock Bourbon Australian Superbike Championships on 29-31 May.

Contested at Queensland Raceway, Burgess finished on the podium for both rounds, taking third in round 3a on Saturday and second in round 3b on Sunday aboard the Teterin Motosport Motologic Racing Honda CBR1000RR.

ROUND 3A
Qualifying for round 3a went well for the 24-year-old Novocastrian and saw him start from the front row in fourth place behind Pat Medcalf, Beau Beaton and Jamie Aitken.

Race one on Friday afternoon provided fantastic racing with Medcalf finishing on top while Beaton and Burgess fought out the final podium placings, with Beaton scoring second and Burgess third.

Burgess improved constantly throughout the round 3a racing, working on settings overnight to come out strong for Saturday’s race two where he once again finished behind Medcalf and Beaton, but had managed to improve his race times and close the gap to the race leader somewhat – finally settling for third for round 3A.

ROUND 3B
Burgess was determined going into round 3b to hunt down the Yamaha R1 of Medcalf and out-muscle and out-brake the Ducati 1198s of Beaton, and in race one he grabbed the holeshot and led for the first laps of the race before being passed by Medcalf and then engaging in an exciting battle with Beaton for second place.

Beaton and Burgess were neck and neck with neither offering the other position until Beaton finally broke through under brakes getting underneath Burgess’s Fireblade and powering out of the corner – Burgess had a moment which gave Beaton 2nd Place.

In race two Jordy had his eyes set on fending off Beaton and going for the race win, once again grabbing the holeshot and leading for the best part of the race until a passing manoeuvre by Medcalf got the better of Burgess in the half wet conditions. Burgess crossed the line with a substantial gap to Beaton in third place, which secured Burgess second place overall for the round.

JORDAN BURGESS
“I am pretty happy with the way things had panned out for the weekend! I feel as if I have gained momentum and had a great time racing with all the guys – riding the Teterin/Motologic Racing Honda CBR1000RR is so much fun and once we got a few small things sorted with grip I was loving the bike and making the most of it. I’m having a ball racing this year and I can’t wait to get to Eastern Creek for the next round so I can improve once again and really give it to Patty and the Yamaha team.”

Burgess thanks all the effort put in by the Teterin Motosport Team, Motologic Racing, www.Teterin.com.au, Paradise Motorcycles, Two Wheel Superstore, Motul Oils, Gimoto Leathers, OGK Helmets, Endura Sports Nutrition, and especially His Mother and Father for the help and support!
