RR: Donald out of IoM TT after Superstock practice crash

Relentless Suzuki PR:

During Friday night’s final practice session for the 2009 Isle of Man TT Races, Australian Cameron Donald unfortunately slipped off his Relentless Suzuki GSX–R1000 Superstock machine at the Keppel Gate section of the course, putting him out of this year’s event.

After becoming the fastest ever rider around the Isle of Man TT Circuit only 24 hours earlier, with a lap of 131mph, Donald was in a positive frame of mind during his opening lap of Friday’s session.

As he approached the Keppel Gate section of the course, the Melbourne resident missed a gear, forcing him to run wide onto the grass. Cameron did his best to stay on-board but eventually crashed on the uneven surface, dislocating his left shoulder and suffering a minor back injury.

Philip Neill – Team Principal
“After such a great night last night, when Cameron recorded his 131mph lap, we’ve certainly been brought down to earth with his incident tonight. Thankfully Cameron wasn’t seriously injured but is obviously disappointed to be out of this year’s TT.

“Bruce Anstey has also had a phenomenal practice week on his stable of GSX–R machinery, and is quietly confident of adding to his TT tally. We will continue to give Bruce everything he needs, and hopefully our close knit team can put a smile on Cameron’s face with a Relentless Suzuki win.”

Superbike TT Race
