OZ MX: MXTV returns for ninth season with Hogan as new host

MXTV press release:

MXTV , Australia’s favourite dirt bike show – is ready to blast back onto TV screens across the country, with the long-standing show returning to the airwaves on Tuesday 26 May on Foxtel’s Aurora Channel 183 for it’s landmark ninth season.

The new season welcomes new sponsors Yamaha, Kawasaki and Pirelli to the program, who will join existing long term sponsors Peter Stevens, Honda, Fox, GT, Suzuki, QBE Insurance, Motul and Kincrome in 2009.

MXTV’s Brendan Bell said that this series was shaping up to be bigger and better than ever.

“We’re excited to be back for 2009 and are anticipating our biggest year yet,” Bell said.

“We’re stoked to have our new sponsors Yamaha, Kawasaki and Pirelli on board, and I think the changes we made to the show last year made a huge difference. This year will continue that.”

One of those major changes for this series will see a change of host for the first time in over 100 episodes, as long time co-host Lee Hogan steps into the big chair.

“Obviously Lee’s one of the most recognised faces in the sport, and given his time with us, and his other work recently on the new Super X series; it was a natural progression.

“His knowledge of the sport is second to none, and as a presenter, he’s shown he’s one of the best in the business that’s for sure – so it’s great to have him as the new host for 2009”.

Bell will continue as the show’s co-host and feature in segments throughout the show.

Long time fans of the show can rest assured all the viewer favourites will be back for the new season, including new host Lee Hogan’s rider tips, Factory Matt’s product reviews, Ian ‘ Macca’ McGregor’s popular “Blokes & their bikes” segment, Chad Talbot’s mechanical tips, plus the mysterious cult favourite “The Fro’ is back to thrash the new bikes in this year’s bike reviews.

To check out the latest offerings from MXTV tune in to Aurora Channel 183 Foxtel/Austar on Tuesday 26 May at 8pm for the first episode of the 2009 Series.

For those not able to catch the first run episodes, the show will be repeated five times during the week at: Wednesday 8.30am and 4.30pm, Friday 9pm and Sunday 5.30am and 9am.
