Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing’s Dean Wilson says he would love to receive an invitation for next year’s Monster Energy AUS-X Open in Sydney, just after winning night one of the two-day event over weekend.

The AMA supercross regular, who finished runner-up on Sunday’s edition, expressed the enjoyment he experienced while racing in Australia, as he proved to be highly-competitive throughout both nights on debut with his brand-new Shift MX deal.

“For sure, I’d love to get the invite back,” Wilson said to MotoOnline.com.au. “I think it just really enjoyable – I had a lot of fun, they’ve treated me awesomely and I’d love to come back. I’m pretty happy, it would’ve been cool to get a two-night sweep, but I won two heat races, won a main event and got second in one.

“It was good, I had a really good weekend, I’ve definitely got a few things to work on still for the off-season. I’m leaving safely – I’m happy. I think it’s good training for me and will help me going into the next season.”

The Scottish-native will now head to Paris in France this weekend for another international race that will see him up against a host of AMA supercross contenders.
