Youthful Australian freestyle motocross (FMX) rider Pat Bowden is slated to contest the FMX Best Trick competition at this year’s Monster Energy AUS-X Open at Sydney’s Qudos Bank Arena on 11-12 November.

The Queenslander, who will join fellow Aussie FMX legend Robbie Maddison at the event, says he’s working on something big for the competition to ensure he’s a strong chance to take out the gold medal.

“Since the AUS-X Open started I’ve wanted to compete there,” said Bowden. “It’s the biggest FMX competition in Australia by a long way. To do my thing in front a packed Qudos Bank Arena, which will be an experience I’ll never forget I’m sure. I’m working on something big especially for this event – I’ll give it everything I’ve got to win gold.”

A clear force to be reckoned with, Bowden earlier this year took out third place in the FMX Best Trick competition at the 2017 Nitro World Games in Salt Lake City, landing an enormous double-grab/hart/rock solid backflip combination.

Additional riders are pencilled in to be announced over the coming month for FMX Best Trick, which will run in conjunction the prestigious supercross event.

The third edition has attracted the likes of Aussie fan-favourite Chad Reed, motocross and supercross legend Ricky Carmichael, plus popular AMA front-runners Jason Anderson and Josh Grant amongst Australia’s local talents. The country’s very own FMX legend Robbie Maddison will also make the trip home to attend the event.

The 2017 AUS-X Open has so far partnered with Monster Energy, Destination NSW, It’s on in Sydney, Ladbrokes, Shannons Insurance, Boost Mobile, X-Drive, Thor MX Australia, Komatsu, Knobby, Yamaha Motor Australia, KTM Australia, Husqvarna Motorcycles Australia and Dunlop.
