Team Belgium has revealed Kevin Strijbos (Suzuki World MXGP) will replace injured athlete Clement Desalle (Monster Energy Kawasaki Factory Racing) for the upcoming Monster Energy FIM Motocross of Nations (MXoN) slated for 1 October, at Matterley Basin in Great Britain.

Stijbos will fulfil the premier class position in the MXGP category alongside Belgian teammates Julien Lieber (LRT KTM) and Jeremy Van Horebeek (Monster Energy Yamaha Factory Racing).

Desalle, who hasn’t represented the country at the prestigious event in the past four years, injured his lower back at America’s 17th round of the MXGP World Championship, forcing his 2017 campaign to come to a premature end.

Victors of the Chamberlains Trophy in 2013, Belgium enter the 2017 edition as podium favourites after falling just shy of the box at last year’s instalment of the event.
