Active8 Yamalube Yamaha’s Wil Ruprecht has increased his points advantage in the E1 category to 33 after recording a perfect 1-1 scorecard at Kyogle’s ninth and 10th rounds of the Yamaha Australian Off-Road Championship (AORC) last weekend.

Ruprecht explained the result was exactly what he was chasing at the New South Wales venue, which has allowed him to enter the final two rounds at Omeo in Victoria with a comfortable points buffers in the standings.

“The weekend was just the result we were looking for,” said Ruprecht. “Both days I was able to have a pretty smooth run and I had no bike problems at all, so all I had to do was worry about riding well and keeping focused on the trail.”

The Yamaha rider was just one of many racers who praised the Kyogle layout, referring to it as a more traditional enduro style circuit.

“I loved the fact that it was an old style enduro and the conditions were good for racing,” he continued. “It’s the kind of event you love to ride and I had a great time out there.”

Omeo’s 11th and 12th rounds are scheduled for 5-6 August, which will see the AORC conclude and the class titles decided.
