Motul MX Nationals an important event for Shoalhaven City Council

Motul MX Nationals press release:

For the third consecutive year Shoalhaven City Council has committed to support the Motul MX Nationals, with the region gearing up to host the sixth round of the championship this coming Sunday July 2.

The ten round championship is all set to make its way to the Nowra Motoplex in just a few days’ time, and with upwards of 100 competitors plus additional support staff set to pour into the town over the weekend, Shoalhaven City Council continues to recognise the positive impact a round of the series has on the local economy.

With this Sunday’s sixth instalment marking the third time that the championship has visited the Nowra Motoplex, Shoalhaven City Council Mayor Amanda Findley said that the championship continues to be an important event on the region’s calendar.

“Council is proud to be supporting this event for the third year running, and I would like to welcome all of the competitors, officials, supporters and their families to the beautiful Shoalhaven,” she said.

“Motocross is such a unique and thrilling sport and it’s great to see the young men and women battle it out in the dust and mud.

“I hope our locals enjoy the competition from the visitors and that spectators are suitably thrilled with the action.

“The winter conditions have been spectacular and I am sure the track will be in good shape for the competition.

“For those getting amongst the action, go hard, be as safe as you can be, and good luck.”

Motul MX Nationals Series Promoter Kevin Williams today gave praise to Shoalhaven City Council and says that the entire MX Nationals team is looking forward to bringing the racing roadshow back this weekend.

“We love visiting Nowra, so to have the local council’s continued support in 2017 means a lot to us,” Williams explained.

“We have just finished our winter mid-season break so we are all very eager to get back to racing, and what better location than Nowra where the town itself and it’s many catchment areas has plenty of motorcycling enthusiasts.

“With many competitors and support staff staying in Nowra over the weekend, restaurants and accommodation venues will be full, so it’s great to be able to support local economies and bring a national championship to a country town.

“We pride ourselves on delivering a top quality sporting event to the people and we are very much looking forward to heading back to the New South Wales South Coast venue this weekend for the sixth round of our championship.”

Round 6 of the 2017 Motul MX Nationals will be held at the Nowra Motoplex on Sunday July 2, with bikes on track from 8:00am.
