Motorcycling Australia (MA) today confirmed that the Dungog rounds of the 2017 Australian Off-Road Championship (AORC) have now been cancelled after originally being postponed due to extreme weather conditions.

The New South Wales event, first scheduled as the season-opener and set to take place on 8-9 April, was expected to take place at some stage throughout the 12-round series before today’s announcement.

Working in consultation with key stakeholders involved in the running and organising of the AORC, as well multiple Australian championship disciplines, it has been determined by MA that the Dungog rounds will not go ahead at any stage in 2017.

According to MA, the decision has been made to ensure the least disruption and impact for riders and teams competing in other off-road events both domestically and internationally.

The 2017 AORC series will now downsize to a 10-round championship and move on to the upcoming rounds at Renmark, in South Australia on 24-25 June.
