Sherco striving for success in Queensland

Sherco Australia press release:

The DSR Motul Pirelli Sherco Team is taking stock and setting up for a striking performance at rounds 3 and 4 of the Australian Off-Road Championship this weekend.

The double sprint weekend of racing will see riders race over three separate tracks across free-flowing grass-tack and in and out of gullies with some tight and technical rocky sections.

“We’re ready for action,” stated Team manager Dave Suter. “Nic Tomlinson is ripe and ready to show what he’s capable of this weekend. He’s been busy riding and we’ve developed his 450 even further. I can’t wait to see him race.”

Tomlinson is currently running in 2nd place for the EJ Class for riders under 19, while teammate Andy Wilksch is trying to overcome recent injuries and get in the points fight for the E2 Class. Wilksch is currently 5th in the Championship points.

“Andy suffered a shoulder injury pre-season that held him back at the opening rounds,” Suter explained. “He took a fall at the South Australian Off-Road Championship tweaking his shoulder again and taking a hit between his thigh and hip. He’s tough as nails though and managed to place second. He ended up with heavy bruising and was super-sore at the Vic Off-Roads last weekend. But Andy makes no excuses and he’ll have his 300 SEF-R on song this weekend.”

DSR Sherco Team captain Derek Grundy will be gunning for another strong weekend of racing after dominating the opening two rounds in the Masters Class. Grundy is riding well and looking fitter than ever.

“Derek is a smart racer,” Suter said of his Team co-manager. “I’ve said it before but he really does lead by example. He’ll be in it to win it. That’s how he is and he’s just so comfortable on the 300 SEF-R that he can adapt to any track in any condition.”

Rounding out the official Sherco campaign at Miva is Kate Norman who is lining up in the Women’s Class. The AMF Powerhouse Motorcycles racer is sitting in 6th place and is looking to take over 5th position this weekend.
