Radar: 2017 MX Nationals Rd2 Appin

Unsung performances that caught our attention on Sunday.

MotoOnline.com.au highlights three standout performances from the weekend’s second round of the 2017 Motul MX Nationals at Appin in New South Wales. Radar isn’t strictly about the winners, it’s about the unsung racers that we spot performing above expectations on any given race weekend.

Keiron Hall (Synep Racing Husqvarna) – MX1, 11th overall:
It was a solid weekend for Hall at Appin, remaining consistent regardless of the track conditions encountered and registering 11-11 results for 11th overall. As part of the Synep Racing team, Hall is spending the full season in MX1 this year and should factor inside the top 10 as the year goes on.

Ricky Latimer (TLR Yamaha) – MX2, seventh overall:
Yamaha privateer Latimer was impressive throughout round two of the series and put his YZ250F inside the top 10 during both motos, clocking eighth in race one and ninth in the second. That bumped him up to seventh overall for the round and provides a significant boost heading to Conondale in a couple of weeks.

Aaron Tanti (WBR Bulk Nutrients Yamaha) – MX2, 10th overall:
We’ve been tracking the progress of Tanti for a few years now and this year we’re tipping he will make an immense impact as the season rolls on. A crash and brake issue following that placed him 13th in the first moto, but later that afternoon he charged to fifth. Don’t be surprised to see him inside the top five more constantly in coming rounds.
