Williams Event Management (WEM) has announced that SCOTT has become the official goggle partner of the Motul MX Nationals once again, following a short hiatus from the series.

SCOTT, which is an industry leader in the development of off-road eye-wear, has a lengthy history with the MX Nationals and has confirmed that the company has taken on the roles of series partner and official goggle for the 2017 season.

“SCOTT has had a long relationship with the MX Nationals and we’ve been heavily involved as sponsor for many years, only missing the last couple, but we’ve come back on board as the official goggle partner for 2017,” SCOTT off-road product and marketing coordinator Joel Ryan commented.

“We’ve really enjoyed watching the series grow into one of the best run and most competitive series going around. The depth of talent across all fields runs deep and creates some world-class racing. Along with partnering with the series, SCOTT sponsor top athletes, who put our products to the test week in week out racing the MX Nationals.

“Guys like Dean Ferris, Nate Crawford, Luke Clout, Kyle Peters, Cooper Pozniak, Dylan Long and Cody Dyce are just a few fast guys who you’ll see putting our Works Film kit out in front each week and helping us test and design the best products we can then put into production.”

Ryan also mentioned that with the recent changes to the tear-off rules in Australia, that SCOTT now has a full range of film kits that will be showcased at the Motul MX Nationals and also shared a special initiative for privateers during 2017.

“The tear-off rule is going to be a huge change for 2017 for the riders,” he continued. “We had planned for it for the 2016 season, but then the rule got pushed back for 2017, so it gave our team plenty of time to set-up our guys with our film system options.

“We’ve got a full range of film systems available to suit all of our goggles, including kids goggles. The key model most of our team guys will be using is our new Prospect goggle, which features a 50mm film, which is a lot larger than the older style 38mm film previously available.

“Another key point for our riders is that our film system can just simply click onto any of our SCOTT lens, so if it’s a sunny round the guys can still use their grey tint lens, or for a low-light option go to something like a blue or yellow tint.

“Along with offering a goggle prep race service for our sponsored racers and SCOTT being the official goggle partner, we’re proud to announce that we’re also going to offer SCOTT film rolls at no charge for any privateers racing the MX Nationals for 2017.”

Motul MX Nationals Series Promoter Kevin Williams says he’s pleased to welcome SCOTT back as a partner of the championship: “As Joel has mentioned, SCOTT has had a long history with the MX Nationals and we’re thrilled to be welcoming them back as a partner of the championship as the 2017 official goggle.

“SCOTT are leading the way with the design of film kits and taking on rider feedback, so we are very excited to have their team on-board in 2017 and to have another leading off-road brand partnering with the Motul MX Nationals this season.”

The Motul MX Nationals has also confirmed a partnership with beyondblue, to raise awareness of mental health within motorcycle sport. Since 2000, the national mental health organisation has been committed to raising awareness of conditions such as depression and anxiety and reducing stigma around mental health issues.
